About ⟶

CR2 was launched in March 2018 as a member-led nonprofit focused on promoting best-in-class approaches to cybersecurity risk management across the world.

CR2 members operate globally and have headquarters in the Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe.

The composition of our membership provides CR2 with unique visibility into the interdependencies that drive the need for a common baseline, as well as critical insight into the most effective approaches to cybersecurity risk management.

Our members represent numerous sectors including financial services, IT, energy, and telecommunications. Member organizations are committed to security, trust, economic growth, and opportunity. As a result, we have deep expertise in cybersecurity and enterprise risk management.

We also have unique insights into cross-sector interdependencies and global interconnectivity, which drive the need for consistent, foundational approaches to cybersecurity risk management across industries and borders. Most importantly, we are eager to collaborate with industry and government to both enhance cybersecurity and support economic growth.

Our Mission

CR2 aims to enhance cybersecurity and support economic growth by partnering across industries and with governments around the world to strengthen and align approaches to improving cybersecurity risk management.

CR2 advocates the alignment of national and multilateral cybersecurity frameworks with globally recognized, widely-utilized international standards for cybersecurity risk management. We recognize that these practices will be advanced in both market-based incentives and regulatory approaches.

Around the world, countries are developing or updating cybersecurity guidelines, regulations, and standards that call for organizations from different sectors to implement cybersecurity policies, practices, and activities. As a group, we are tracking government efforts at different stages of maturity across every region of the world. Working in partnership with our members and governments, CR2 advocates and works to influence government policymakers in national, regional, and multinational forums. CR2 works to advance, validate, and promote international reference points, and partner and collaborate with like-minded partners. We can enable continuous cybersecurity improvement, foster the agility necessary to manage risks in a dynamic environment, and facilitate alignment across interdependent sectors and geographies.

Together, we can enable continuous cybersecurity improvement, foster the agility necessary to manage risks in a dynamic environment, and facilitate global alignment across both the public and private sectors.
